Elevate breakfast with our Mushroom French Toast, highlighting Highline White Flat Mushrooms. This savory delight combines fluffy French toast with sautéed mushrooms, a treat for mushroom lovers and food enthusiasts.
Ingredients:
6 oz Highline® White Flat Mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp minced garlic
4 rosemary sprigs
2 large eggs
4 slices of bread
Salt & pepper, to taste
Syrup, for serving
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Sauté mushrooms, garlic, and rosemary for 10 minutes over high heat, until they turn a rich golden brown.
- While the mushrooms are sizzling, whisk the egg in a shallow bowl. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture to ensure full coating.
- Move the mushrooms to one side of the pan and transfer the egg-coated bread slices into the pan. Cook on each side 5 minutes until golden and crisp on both sides.
- Season with salt & pepper and drizzle syrup before serving.
