Experience a twist on “Surf and Turf” with Pan Seared Steak and King Oyster Mushroom Scallops. A savory fusion of umami flavors that elevates any date night meal in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
7 oz Highline® King Oyster Mushrooms, tops removed, sliced
8 oz rib eye steak
4 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chipotle mayo, for serving
Lemon, for serving
Instructions:
- Season steak with salt and pepper.
- In a cast iron pan melt butter on high heat. Add steak and garlic to the hot pan. Cook for 4 minutes on each side. Use a spoon to baste the steak with the butter in the pan. Use a thermometer to reach the desired doneness of steak.
- In another pan, heat oil on medium heat in a medium pan. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3 minutes on each side until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- To serve, slice the steak and place it on a serving board, and drizzle with chipotle mayo. Place scallops on the other end of the serving board and squeeze with a slice of lemon.
